What biopellet reactor are you using?

I'm running the reef dynamic recirculating biopellet reactor. Solidly made and works great if you can find one.

I have been reading through your whole thread tonight. I seen you use to use the tlf 550 for the biopellets. Does the reef dynamics work better?

When you used vibrant did you turn off your uv sterilizer?

It did work with a little modification but it was not a permanent solution as the biopellets slowly wore down the cheap plastic at the bottom of the reactor and blew a hole in it. Also, the reef dynamic is recirculating which allows for individual control of effluent flow rate and pellet tumbling rate.

I did turn off the sterilizer while using vibrant.

I've been looking at setting up bio pellets. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Get a good reactor with recirculating option. Get a good skimmer. Start slow... Only add like 20% of recommended amount of pellets and run it that way for a month with the effluent feeding into the skimmer or at least in the same area of the skimmer.

Track your nitrate level, if it goes down steadily, keep the amount the same. If it stays the same or gets higher, add more pellets and wait a couple weeks again and measure.

Aim for 5-10 ppm of nitrates. I still run GFO in conjunction with my pellets.

Sounds like a solid plan. I've been carbon dosing for years of just like to change it up.

Life rewards the bold my friend.

I used an old rusty pair of scissors and it went fine. I'm sure you'll be just fine. But if not, I take no liability for your loss.

Ty, with having a waiting list for the anemones why do you still have so many instead of clearing out the list?

I'm not doing the list anymore. It robbed me of the fun of just growing these guys and selling them when I wanted and to whom I wanted. I do this hobby for fun and it wasn't that fun anymore with the anemones when I had a waiting list.

That's a good way to look at it. Did you practice on cheaper nems first or did you drive in the deep end?
