Is absolutely all of it pink, or just some parts of it?

I added 3 baffles to my sump and this pink coloration is only in the baffle that is in the middle so it's just part of it.

That makes me think it not a chemical from solution, but perhaps more likely a bacteria growth on it.

Does the pink wipe off with your hand rubbing on it gently?

Is it exposed to light? All parts equally?

I haven't tried to wipe it off, I will try that today. It's not really exposed to light. thanks for your response.

I had that happen to me too on a sump. I did not come to a conclusion. All I can say was I used GE 100% clear silicone for windows and doors.

I left it to dry outside where there was some scattered light and it rained hours later where drops of rain were hitting it. There is paint above my balcony that is white that water might have been dripping from, but im not saying that was the problem. Just a guess.

Last night I try to rub it to see if it would come off but it didn't. It looks like the silicone itself turned pink in those 2 spots. So weird!!!

Interesting. Maybe some metal in the silicone changed it chemical state, producing the color.
