Replacing cross brace issue
Picked up a 120 that had plastic trim and cross bracing. The bracing was actually 2 pieces of glass sandwiched and siliconed together so that the top piece sat on the top edge of the tank and the bottom piece inside the rim. The bracing was water stained between the panels. I have removed the trim and bracing and would like to eurobrace it instead.
The issue I see at the moment is the front panel sits slightly lower than the side panels, by about 1/16 - 3/32 which will leave a decent size gap for the silicone if I attach eurobracing panel across the front that rests on top of the side panels. Will this cause an issue or will the silicone be strong enough to hold. Tank is 48x24x24 Starfire Front 1/2" glass 3/4" bottom |

The joint will certainly be weaker with that gap..
It most certainly "could" cause an issue.. If would likely be better to brace it as it was than to have that gap though..
