Marine Ich! Please Help!
About 2 months ago, I fully cycled and began stocking my new 600 litre reef system. I added two percula clowns, 2 hermit crabs, a snail, a regal tang, a sailfin tang, a royal dottyback and a midas blenny over a month. I have also added several mushrooms and a torch coral. The tank still looks so bare!
I have recently noticed a few small white spots appear on the regal tang which have become worse over the past few days. He has not shown any other signs of disease (eating marine and algae new era flakes along with mysis and brine shrimp and dried seaweed which none of them have taken to) which is weird. These are my current water parameters: (tested this morning using API master test kits) Salinity - 1.025 Temperature - 25 degrees celcius pH - 8.0 Ammonia - Less than 0.1ppm Nitrite - 0ppm Nitrate - 0ppm Phosphate - 0ppm I have added a photo of the tank itself, showing how small the tang is compared to the tank which suggests he is not stressed in terms of space and also he is not being picked on at all. I have also added two photos of the tang himself showing his ich. (I'm assuming) Photo 1 - Tank - http://gyazo.com/be22f68854231e91a76917f1d57585c0 Photo 2 - Tang - http://gyazo.com/ed47a664f5732f7d334b6ad9acf814c1 Photo 3 - Tang - http://gyazo.com/38053d5919338dcf5c50b9f97c768a54 I do not have a spare tank to move the tang to but am thinking about buying one second-hand to temporarily set up for him. I am considering treating him with either copper or hyposalinity. I have thought about just leaving him and seeing how he does but as this is my first marine tank I am hoping that someone will give me some advice on what to do. I will be grateful for any replies, thanks, Sam. |
