I am covering the overflow box with a piece of black acrylic. I need to drill the holes in it so it stays higher up behind the ghost overflow. This mock up gives a good idea of what it looks like.

Do understand that the Rubbermade horse troughs will develop leaks after a few years. It seems counterintuitive but I have seen way too many people have to replace them. Just be ready with something secondary under your tanks to hold water in case of a problem.

Well I will put an apex leak detection pad under it. It also has to flow past a open area to get to the floor drain so I will see that when or if it happens.

Did a lot this weekend.
1. added another strand of the LED strips above the fixture that holds up the Kessils 2. drilled holes in the acrylic black plate to cover up the overflow box (looks nice) 3. took the Apex off my old 75 gallon and moved it to the 180. 4. Updated firmware for the apex to 4.4 so I could plug in the WAV pumps 5. had fun watching the WAV pumps. 6. Started messing with the variable speed ports for the Kessil connection.

I will get that tonight. I have been neglecting updates and pictures because there is so much to do. The local fish club is viewing the tank November 8th and I don't even have a fish in it yet. I have been running around trying to get the basement tour ready. I will hopefully solve the Kessil ramp up and down schedule tonight and start putting together the screen tops for the 180.

Picture update:
Acrylic external overflow blocking plate in place. Held in place by drilling 2 holes where the bulkheads go through the glass and then tightening them back down over it. It is wedged between the ghost overflow and the glass. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk

More pictures:
Aquascaping was reworked by me messing around with trying to make the wav pumps do a wave. They are pretty powerful pumps. New project on the list to do... make this apex cord nest look better. Possibly Remove the drywall to have cords go behind some other kind of wall. I liked the supernight leds so I got another strand to go above the tank. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk

Figured out how to use the Kessils in a chain... its real simple... gotta put the output to the next input... i don't want to talk about how long it took me to get that correct on all 3...

Instead of removing the drywall, why don't you just get a board to screw everything to like they did on the BRS tank? Then cords will be hidden and no need to mess with the drywall!
Also, great job on the blocking plate! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well...
Royal Grama would be my first pick but, I may just get a few blue green reef Chromis if they don't have a Royal Grama. Reef Chromis were the first fish in my last tank and they seem to be a good indication of water quality. They are cheap and still sensitive to water quality unlike some cheap damsels that seem to be able to live through anything. I feel like Damsels could possible lure someone into a false sense of security.

Don't know if you can see the LSM welll but my wife gave me an early birthday gift to install before the 8th. I put the moon lights next to the Kessils.
