Still here, still alive.

NOPOX dosing up to 10 ml now, I've been taking it very very slowly. KH dropped to 6, 2 part dosing up to 150ml daily. Growth responded well but I feel color is down a notch except for that crazy yellow/red acro.

Two Part addict

The horrida on the left seems to be doing a lot better as it grows into lower light but more flow. I wonder if the large hairy polyps indicate that this acro grows in lower light than most?

My small 40 gallon is NOT an SPS tank KH dropped to 5.5 because I manually dose and sometimes forget ... and sometimes I forget that I forgot. No acros, no problem.

Both tanks looks to be doing well. You need to frag that green slimer, its growing out of the water. Not a bad problem to have.

Everyone else would frag the slimer, I'm letting it go to see what happens, though I have cut off some branches aimed at other corals.

Hey Mark! fantastic!! Both tanks look amazing.
Don’t think you can come around here and post a couple awesome pics and then disappear again without multiple top downs and close ups!!!
This better just be a warm up, my friend.
I will accept nothing less....

Thank you all, nice to see you around.

I rarely test anymore, except for Alk. KH was down to 6, rose it a bit quick than I wanted, now 7.2. Nitrate was crystal clear, no hint of pink. Phosphate was 2 ppb. I tested again, 1 pbb. No wonder colors are off.

Lowering PhosphateRx to 1 drop daily, from 2. Lowering NOPOX to 5ml from 10. If still too low in a week then will cut PhosphateRx out and see what happens.

Salinity crept up again to 37, all this damn 2 part adding table salt to my tank. I'm a little worried about ending up with some kind of chemical imbalance so I am preparing for some small water changes for the first time in, uh, 6 months maybe? Just to get some fresh saltwater into the mix.

Thanks Greg.

I took a picture of my tan 'dragon' because I had an idea.

I simply have favorites, and this one needed a new spot.

Now, I have probably been guilty of slapping a coral right on top of another coral so I am not entirely sure if you’re planning to leave it there or remove the dragon and put the lokani in its place.. but if you are planning to leave it right on top- which in about a month wouldn’t look so odd, in about 2 months the dragon would probably have outgrown the lokani and started to stifle it.
A top down would make an interesting contrast in color and form..

Hi Matt,

I will leave it and hack at the dragon as it gets close. The dragon has a lot of room behind it to grow so maybe I'll get lucky and have a few branches grow behind for some nice contrast.

Awesome pictures.

I love the mature colonies in the large tank and the colour variation in the smaller tank. The second tank in particular makes me go back to a mixed reef tank.

Keep up the good work Mark.

Thanks Bulent!

So unfortunately my strawberry lemonade shortcake yellow and red coral is under some duress. The back side has no polyp extension and skin is turning blue. I'm worried it's near an STN or RTN episode. I've redirected flow a but to try and make sure it's getting hit with a little more and I've started dosing a little nitrate. Other corals all have good nighttime polyp extension so I don't want to do too much other than gently bring up the nutrients to detectable.

It's been a long time since anything even looked off so I suspect this has been happening slowly as I reduced nutrients and I failed to notice.
