Question Growing a frogspawn coral

Hi i got a 10 gallon reef tank for Christmas and I have 2 clownfish a firefish and a golden frogspawncoral the base of it is in the sand but the head is out.I was wondering if it had to be on the main Rockwood to expand and grow into a colony.

Also what is the grow rate on these things

Any help would be great thanks.

Some pictures of it would help but I’ve found they don’t mind it just about anywhere in the tank. I have one lower and one higher in the tank and they both are open and full. As far as growing they can be pretty slow. It takes some time to calcify.
