That's a pricey valve, I think mine was $100.

What happened, no more doser??

Yes, make sure it's a low or medium flow valve.

Thank you for the website.

Also, is a check valve necessary after the needle valve? I've seen units with it and w/o it.

Yes. You don't want water from the reactor flowing back into your CO2 tank.

What is the preferred check valve, on the tubing or as a fitting?

Fitting check valve
Stainless Steel Poppet Check Valve, Fixed Pressure, 1/8 in. MNPT
https://www.swagelok.com/en/catalog/...art=SS-2C2-1/3

or
Tubing check valve

In my opinion after putting my regulator together, I think you are going the find it difficult connecting the Swagelok check valve. I would just use the online valve. I'm sure more experienced aquarist will chime in. Hopefully Alane will.

What is everyone's preference for a check valve?

Go to your local welding shop or beer brewing supply shop and ask for a chrome plated brass CGA-320 nut and nipple.

Are stainless steel fitting preferred? or could you get by with regular steel fitting?
More than likely my regulator will be outside the stand.

I use both. I already had the plastic check valve, but I bought the stainless one anyways.

Alan le made it seem like Burkert was the best of the best when I built mine, so that's what I went with.
