Looks great! Just beware that if the rock work isn't resting on the acrylic, then the shrimp can dig under them and topple them over.

Looks awesome! I want to see you hand feeding her by the end of the week.
No, on second thought, take your time with that, but I do want to see it happen. Eventually, you can train her to sit in your hand like my fiance did. Of course, you'll have to be the judge of whether or not that's safe with your individual mantis, but hopefully you can. Cheers! |

He is currently building up his cave walls, ready to molt I'm sure. Though he only does it with the lights on. Of course it is only 48 hours in, so who knows what he is doing. ..updates coming soon

So Bane just started to molt the other day, pretty exciting, he closed off his cave on Wednesday Night. How long cant I expect the molt to go, he was still in there this morning

A week or two sometimes.
In younger animals they molt significantly faster.

Welp, just an update, I had a bit of red slime outbreak which I just got finished cleaning up over the course of just over a week.
He has now moved out of his PVC dwelling, and has created and entrance and exit in the rock work Is this normal? He still hasnt molted and hasnt grown much from october. theres still plenty of space inside the PVC

Hopefully it should go back. Mine did that before, where she just dug under the PVC and made her home there, I eventually just blocked off her new burrow with really heavy rock so she'd go back in her much more suitable tubing.

The only recommendation I would make is to make sure that the rocks aren't just piled on top of each other. Leave some gaps for the water flow to move around them so that detritus won't get in there and build-up. Water quality is more important with Peacocks as I'm sure you already know. I really like the substrate epoxy work on the PVC pipe. That's exactly what I'll do if I ever own a Peacock again. Also good job on providing plenty of LR rubble for the mantis to "play with."

*when the lights are turned off* Bane: so you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the darkness, I was born in it!
