8 gallon Bio-Cube
Here is my Nano 8 gallon Bio cube. 5lbs of LR, 17lbs of LS. Four blue hermits, 2 turbo snails, 1 Coral Banded Shrimp, and a clown named Sushi!! Next step would be to re-do the stock internals on the filters. LR in place of the bio-balls, New pump, bag-o-carbon...... Need some corals too!!! Any other suggestions??????
night shots to come.......... |

The reflector for the lights extends pretty far over the back compartment. I'd say there is a good bit of light spilling over into it.
Bacteriologically speaking, live rock is still "live" even in total darkness. I've read that most processes of the nitrogen cycle prefer the absence of light. If it was my BC8, I'd flip the rock around to make it easier to place corals, and that way the overhang wouldn't block the light from above and it would create a bit of a cave for your fish to duck behind for security. Raise the water level in the third compartment by pouring more water into the tank. Then put the heater into the third compartment. Looks good so far. |

Its the corals that are the only things that need light.

nice ... start dosing calcium to get some coraline on that LR, which looks very promising and porous!

Oooo... neat layout. I could see an eel "slithering" between the pillars... if they slithered and if that wasn't an 8g

The hydor Flo was added very easily, they come with adapters. I have since taken it off so many reasons.
i have added some pulsating xenias, and a toad stool. I ousted the coral banded shrimp for a peppermint. I took the canes out and put them back into 2.5 gallon. I have also completed a fuge in the back chamber. Everything is seeming to going well so far!!!! |
