on my mp40 Esw, The first time you use night mode, you must tell it when to go into Night Mode. You do this by pressing and holding both Mode and Set and then pressing and holding Mode and Set again. If you remove power to your Vortech driver, you must tell it again when to go into Night Mode.

You should have a manual with the pump, it states in there how to do everything

for night mode -

-press & hold mode + set button

then press & hold mode + set button again

sometimes I have to hold it down for a few seconds before the light dial thingy changes...... when it goes white & spins it's in night mode

Do you have to do this every night?

You will get a start time and tell it how long you want it to be in night mode...Once this is done it will do the "same" every night...

This is not a true statement. You can not only set the speed for night mode but you set how long it will be in night mode (from 6-14 hours)...Say you put it on night mode at 10:00PM, at 50% for 10 hours....At the same time the next day it will do exactly the same thing, and so on and so on.

Look at page 27 in the full manual...

OMG. It looks like you need a degree in engineering to program this thing...
