So can I say I was right, and saw marks and said fight?? Come on I was the first...i did think another fish though, six months on a big fish like that sometimes takes a while till tank mates pic out the week fish, eels are especially tuned into week fish , I kept an eel for many years and fed him re gold fish, the re fish instantly started stressing and the eel picks that up across the tank, just saying he's more in time with there health than you...or he's hungry..

I have zero experience with eels but what if you put a PVC pipe in the tank with some food inside it. It might entice it to go in it and you can trap him inside the pipe and take the whole pipe out with him in it?

I almost caught him but he broke the fish line with a 2x treble lure hook and he swallowed it . You think he will die or will survive ? If he lives gonna have to get a tougher line

If he swallowed the hook, yea he's gonna die imo, maybe he spit it out?? Look, get magnet maybe you can find it, I like the trap idea, that's nice looking eel maybe trade it if he survives??How cool would a nothing but eels and acros...no fish , many eels...sounds cool

I would let the eel be and see how it does. I cant say for sure if it will die or not, but my guess would be that it should be okay. Most of those small hooks are made really cheap and will corrode and fall apart fairly quickly when in salt water. Hope it all works out for you
