Salinity Off
I just bought a calibration solution and tested my ma887 and found out that I was actually reading my salinity way off thinking I was 35 and actually was 30. I have SPS and Fish and unplugged my auto top off tonight thinking evaporation over the weekend should bring it back into check. How concerned do I need to be that my alk/ca will change with this? I have been fighting my Mag which is what drove me to check in the first place.
Thanks! |

Well, the calcium and alkalinity will rise about 16%, if nothing gets consumed. All in all, I don't think you'll see much of a change if there are corals or coralline in the tank.
I would put saltwater into the ATO container for the time being, depending on how well the tank will tolerate changes in the water level. Is there an overflow or the like that might cause problems?
