not 40 degree. 60 degree, no need fan too cool , but I have a ceiling fan

Jae , That looks Awesome . Now That you have all the fixtures over your tank , it looks really bright . The color tempture looks super , as well .

You need to start threads on the DIY forum , and the lighting forum .

did you spray something on the exposed wires to protect them? When are you gettingsome PAR readings. What type of lighting did you have before and how do the LEDs compare?

I had 24 54W T5
first electric .. it was use around 14A /H for light( T5 and Blue Led. and Tunz
now 440 3W led and blue LED and Tunz. using less then 9A/H

less heat then T5..
Power supply run warm ( almost no heat.)
lots more light then T5

I don't have a PAR meter.
I still waiting for PAR meter

I didn't spray anything yet? (brand name?)

Where did you get this information from? I am trying to decide what optics to get for the LED fixture I'm going to make. I plan on placing the fixture about 13" above the water.

I can only imagine that the 40 degree optic would give a wider spread and less PAR.Just my opinion based on pure speculation.

good to know,im new to LED's and this is the first time i have used them.the great thing about the optics is that they are cheap enough to swap out if you dont like your current setup.

I saw Jae's tank With just the 18,000-20,000 K LEDs , and to me it looks like a tank with just MH 20,000 K radiums . If you like more blue , add some RB LEDs . If you want Blue for Dusk , and Dawn then add some RB LEDs .
