Skimmer for reefer 625XXL
I'm looking for the best skimmer for a Reefer 625 XXL build (133 Gallon display). I want to plan for it being heavily stocked. Are the Mini 160/180 and DC 180 the three I should be looking at? I'm leaning towards the DC 180 for easier maintenance and it seems most appropriately sized for the system. I'd love to have some extra room in the sump that the Mini 160 would provide, but seems like 133G heavily stocked might be pushing it for that model. Recommendations?
Thanks in advance, Todd |

If it were me, I’d go with the Double cone 180 in large part due to the fact that the pump is outside the body which makes routine maintenance on the pump much easier since you don’t need to remove the skimmer and take it apart to clean the pump. If space is really a big concern, then I’d go with the Mini 180 as the 160 would be a bit undersized if you plan on lots of fish.
