moved Syd's 6 cb Hawaiian Flames into the DT, also moved the hybrid powder blue and Hawaiian Pinktail. Both qt tanks were totally torn apart last night.
I did add several pieces of Marco, see the white pieces close to the overflow, and the flames and other smaller fish love them. Blondie did a great job of applying pressure, while allowing the 6 to settle in, was very cool to see. I made this move at night, a few hours after lights out, so the fish were very mellow. I took all rock and pvc out of the tanks, so this was really totally invasive, and lol, the baby conspics- and hybrid, took it like champs! |

Thanks bud, I was really nervous about adding anything to the Gp tank, but the thought of adding 6 insane small Flames had me very concerned. Not sure I should have added the pinktail but she has been very mellow. I hope she doesn't start misbehaving!
Hope all is well. |

Nothing, I wouldn't treat with anything having all that lr in there. The flames and bandits have been in there a year and the trigger over a year. The conspics and hybrid all came from clean tanks, so I didnt "reset" the qt clock. Not something I really like doing but felt it was safe to do so under these conditions.

Ted -
Other than the photoshop pic above, has this hybrid ever been produced before? Are there any examples of an adult? Interested to see what it will look like, as I suppose you are too.

"This remarkable individual illustrates the most exciting potential of captive breeding—the creation of interspecies crosses which could otherwise never occur in nature. In this instance, the Conspicuous Angelfish comes to us from the subtropical waters of the Coral Sea (with aquarium specimens sourced exclusively from New Caledonia), while the Blueline is a resident far to the north along the coastline of Southeast Asia and Japan (Taiwan being the origin of the broodstock used here). So here we have two angelfishes that were previously separated by some 4,400 miles (7,100 km) and which were flown halfway across the world to Florida to make their beautiful babies." |

The dt tank was cleaned today (Greenwich Aquaria does a great job) so there might be a haze in the pics. Qts need to be cleaned.
This is happening in 3 inch pvc Blondie! Insanely enough, she was referenced in the recent Marine Ornimental text book! CB by Karen. I had Blondie's parents and boxed them up with some other fish and sent them to Karen for breeding. Blondie was the only offspring from my couple. I got her when the Gp came. Blondie was considerably bigger than the Gp, who were like small yellowtail damsel sized. Totally attached to this fish, and wish she could share her story. Love the updates ted, great pictures. Reading your updates brings me back to my first days on RC when the FOWLR section was more active.
Keep up the great work.
