The darker one looks like a tank raised clown. The orange one is a misbar true percala. It could be wild caught because its dorsal and pelicans fins look very good, and no obvious deformities. Not sure about the tail. It's hard to see.

Nice! I will take the babies when for sale!
You guys think that the black one is a photon? I think it is... Ive decided to keep it and not send it back to AC... its now in my nem tank with the yellow mate... AC had it listed as Onyx... I do not think I will ever trust a store selling Onyx unless its verified by the Onyx experts on this board! LOL |

I looked and yes most of the occerlais have a white outline around their fins... My Percs do not seem to have this.
In regard to this new fish... it does have the halo... I looked around the tail and it had a whitish outline |

Its a nice fish... very sharp colors... just hate that AC labelled this onyx.
I even asked the worker and he said that unless the distributor really messed up, that it is an onyx and not a photon. Like I said, im not buying any in a store anymore. Merry Xmas! |

ive corrected them before. 6 months ago they had percs mislabelled as Occy.
This time I was fooled- the fish has the perc eye but the dorsal is little high.... I was having that feeling that it might be a photon but the employee said that it was an onyx... ill buy from reputable sellers next time.... onyx that is. |

The other fish- the little yellow one is quite awesome. Very friendly and looks funny with its little stubby tail.

Man, these clowns really like their coral as a host. They might need to go to another tank if the clowns keep it up because I want my coral to be happy as much as fish. I had just drilled and plumbed a 20 gallon for a spawning pair of clowns. However, I might need to come up with a better setup because the overflow box wasn't too happy about a divider I put in the tank as a test.

So the clown pair is actually in QT. They've gotten Crypto (Ich) from a small Cherub angel that wasn't QT'd because it was in a coral "reef" section of a fish store rather than the main fish system.
They had started with hyposalinity which they did not tolerate well enough to keep it going. So I raised the salinity and added copper (2ppm). They're eating now but the white spots on them have gotten worse. I'm hoping the copper kicks in soon unless this specific strain of ich has developed resistance to copper somehow. In that case I might have to lower salinity again which before stressed them out to the point of not eating. TBD. Finally the main system has been upgraded to 40B with a 20L sump mainly for coral. While almost everything did well in the Lagoon 25 tank there literally was no room for more growth for my leathers and Euphyllias. |
