I didnt take a pic because I had it mounted with some 2x4s and it wasn't very stable. That's when I saw the rivets of the lumenarc and the idea struck me. I think I may fabricate an acrylic holder at some point so that I can mount some blues closer to the middle.

I would say 1 for every 2 foot section so in your case. 4 should do it. Just like you would do MH. My tank is only 2 foot tall so get some good Par on the sand directly under. 30" would be a bit less. But 30" wide would be more light towards the sides. Should be perfect for lower light LPS. Good luck.

The standard lens for these provide the same par as my metal halides so keeping sps will not be an issue. The higher you place the sps, the more par it gets. With these LEDs I have some sps on the sand.

We'll see how the do and if they keep up the same growth they have shown under the halides.

Any updates Joe? How are the corals liking the new lights? What are the PAR readings? You like them?

Missed a few posts there. The corals, atleast the apsis responding very well. Growth has been steady, dosing about 130 ml of alk per day so something are using it. Some colonies have added 1/4 to 1/2 inch in new growth since I switched.

Temp stability has been great along with a lot less power consumption.

I wonder if this is better since we might not need to supplement more blue?

Great Job. I will be building a unit with 4 100w 4 50w and a random assortment of 3-10w chips for my 400.

Are your drivers dc-dc or ac-dc

Hi all, been so busy with work these days, such little time left for other non family stuff. As for the LEDS, they are now over Seth's tank (wheel of time). I switched back to Radiums for the winter as I was running 400+ ways of heaters and I figured if I was gonna do that, might as well run the Radiums. When I had them everything grew really well. Maybe in the spring ill build a new set.

Thanks for the update. That is something I think a lot of people forget about when switching away from halides.
