Which GFO from BRS for a nano?
Hey guys,
I have a continous algae outbreak in my tank, and I have 0 phosphates. I bought my phosban 150 reactor already, but I bought the wrong stuff. I bought carbon instead (Palm in face) So, I did a thread here before about which ones most people use. My tank is a 26 gallon nano, dominated by SPS, but mixed with softies and lps. I would get the High Capacity GFO but that is way too much money for me to spend right now. So, what would be better; the pellet size, or the granular? |

Pellets. I have used both. Please follow the instructions on washing it BEFORE you put it in the tank. I mix with carbon in a small bag for my nano. Leaving it in a bag for passive flow has resulted in the GFO becoming a large solid lump. It is really best used in a reactor. Go slow (start with small amounts of GFO) and remove as much algae by hand as you possibly can.
I believe you will be pleased with the results.
