Should I cover tank to slow down evap?
I'm setting up my qt and just wondering if I ever go with hyposalinity as an option and I want to really limit evap to keep salinity in my 20gal qt at 1.009...are there any bad consequences for covering tank completly so water doesn't evap as fast?
Or is it not even a big deal as long as I top off daily? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

My QT is 20g, no lid, just gets in the way of, traps carbon dioxide, does matter unless your QT friends are jumpers.

This used to be a pretty expensive proposition, but with all of the options out there now, you should be able to pick something up that's not too fancy but will do the job for your QT without hitting the wallet too hard. |

You can cover it as long as you have a way to keep the O2 -CO2 correct. Just add an air pump with an air stone. Keep in mind however that evaporation cools the water temp, so do your own math on whether that may be an issue where you have it set up.
