You might want to rethink that front top of the tank. An access door would be a much better idea. You will definitely want front access to the bottom of your tank as part of regular maintenance.

I have an issue or need some advice.
We have a very very big hole right by our hvac and vent pipe. Should we just use foam or any other ideas. Note we can't remove the pipe or put drywall closer they will not come apart or are we willing to take apart. Thanks Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

I'd just build out a 1"x1" frame around it and drywall around it. Unless you need access to it. In that case make the 1"x1" frame and skin it in painted wood or something and screw it to the wall in a manner that it would be removed if need be. If that's not the case, I'd drywall it in.

Just imagine building a 3-sided frame to fit over that whole mess. The 1x1 is just a place to screw the drywall to. Then It's all hidden. Essentially a continuation of what's already there.

Looking good! I agree with SFU, you should do something to cover the pipes up. If not for corrosion resistance, just for the sake that you will see it as an eyesore! And once you get water in that tank you won't want to do any drywalling over it.

It's been a while sense a post.
1. Room is painted 2. We figured out a solution for covering the pipes. I have started to use foam to seal them up. It will taken some time to build it up. Then I will trim it down and apply drywall mud over it and paint it. Should workout nice. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk |

I do have one question of someone can answer this.
On the the top of the tank I have my euro bracing and above that is my frame for the wall. There is a gap around 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The lenght of the tank.If I can seal this then the wood will not be attacked by years of salt and water damage. Thanks What should I use. Caulking or silicone and what kind. Instead of sealing it you may find it better in the long run to just block the gap with some sort of U-shaped plastic channel. That would be far less permanent if you ever had to get in there again.
