Button Polyps not extending
Hi,
Most other corals seems fine but I am worried about the button polyps. They're not extending their "tentacles/feelers". They open so that they're round and their trunks extend. All water parameters seem fine. Kh is a little low at around 7.5 - 8.0. but I will be fixing that today. Salinity is 35ppm (refractometer). Ph is 8.1. No measurable phosphates or nitrates (using the zeovit system). I have about 300w MH on a 55 gallon. I moved the button polyps into a shaded area thinking it was too much light but they've been there for about 1 month and still the same behavior. All other corals appear quite healthy with good polyp extension. Is this normal for button polyps? Thought it could be that the water is too low in nutrients but not sure.. Help would be appreciated. Thanks -Robert |
