Is there anyplace in the Keys that has clear blue water?

I would like to drive to the Keys, and I am hoping there is a beach with sugar white sand and crystal clear water. Any suggestions? Thanks

no beaches like that in the keys... you need a boat to get to the good reefs

Only beach in Key West similar to this is Smather's Beach, once you enter into KW you would go US1 left, and also in Lower Matecumbe Key there is a small beach on the south end Atlantic side. Most of the waters in the Keys are very clear and nice.
Unfortunately there are no Sugar sand beaches on the east coast of florida or in the Keys. West coast has some nice fine sand beaches.

Like it says.. The boat is the only way to see real clear water. Even then it fluxuates with the wind tide and the distance to the ever changing gulf stream. I take snorkel trips in key west if are interested. I can show you fields of Ricordia!

I have dove all over the place and when I lived in South Florida, I would drive down to Key Largo and stop. For the money, you can't beat easy dives with Quiescence dive shop (small boats, nothing fancy). Ask for John and you will hit some amazing reefs with a good amount of bottom time.

you would need a boat for sure... you drive a little offshore and there are some nice reefs where the water gets is blue. I love the keys, I have had a house there for 13 years and now im selling it . Thats a view from my house in the keys

I have been to Looe Key and it was very clear when I went. Late in Sept. Also have been told to go to Sombrero. Pay to do a boat trip though. Its well worth the $40-50. I plan to do it every year now.

You can find great ocean side beach in Bahia Honda State Park. Definitely my favorite beach in the Keys. There's some good offshore snorkeling there, too!

One of my favorite local dive and snorkel spots is Hens and Chickens reef in Islamorada, FL. It's usually a little crowded in season since it's an S.P.A. but in the off season it's just wonderful. Large schools of Atlantic Blue tangs, Queen Angels, Sea Turtles, various SPS, LPS, and soft coral. I was just there last week. Here are a couple of iPhone photos of the clear blue waters. No dive photos this time.
