Aquatic Life T5+ AI Prime for 48in x 24 in x 20 in

I am in process of planning a 48 in x 24 in x 20 in deep build, SPS dominant mixed reef. It will probably be a Cadlights 100g. Possible but unlikely it will be a Waterbox tank instead which would add 2 in of depth.

Was originally planning on LED only but now liking the Aquatic Life 48" t5 + LED hybrid. Saw a BRS video that seems to suggest with careful SPS placement I would be more than fine with 2x AI Prime's with the included 4x 54w t5ho's and could always add a 3rd prime later.

Should I be fine with this setup ? I like the AI's for cost and aesthetic reasons - planning to go with an all white fixture to match a white stand. Open to alternative suggestions as well

I think you will be fine if you are not growing acros. I have a 36 by 24 by 24 rimless tank. I run the 24inch hybrid fixture with 2 primes and it is enough spread. I am adding a 3 one for acros so there is more of a punch and less shadowing. The only concern I would have is shadowing with 2 primes on the 48 inch in the long run. Totally cool right now to just run two if you want.

I’ve been eyeing this to supplement kessils. Have read reviews of the bulbs melting plastic inserts. Anyone with first hand knowledge?
