brown algae on some of my corals

i've been dealing with this annoying brown algae film on most of my corals for the past month. i blow all the algae of them and in a matter of minutes you can start to see the brown algae on them again. the only corals that never get the brown algae film on them is my red milepora, sunset monti and frogspawn. now my zoas, acans, birdsnest, green finger leather and toadstool all have brown algae on them. my zoas don't open fully since they have algae on them. my pink birdsnest is starting to turn brown and has white spots on it. why is this happening? i am running gfo and carbon. i do a 10% water change weekly. what else can i do?

ps.
the only thing i can think of is around the time the brown algae started i started to put garlic extreme and phyto liquid in the frozen food i give to the fish. i am thinking me putting garlic extreme and phyto into the tank everyday could be causing the brown algae outbreak. im about to just throw away that batch of food i made. and not put again garlic extreme and phyto in the frozen food. and see if the brown algae starts to go away

High nutrition.

SPS that have algae growth on them are dead n those areas and have lost tissue. but with good water parameter adn lots of flow they could come back.

Cut down on your feeding ALOT, stop dosing Phyto as well.

garlic will only make ure fish want to eat, no other effects.

what are the no3 and po4 like ? high Im assuming ? you should up your water changes for a couple weeks till things go back to normal and you get nutritions under control

good luck.

Likely cyano: lights can change colors on things. Punch the blue number under my avatar and it'll take you to a series of posts I've made on various things: one is entitled something about algae, and it does cover cyano and diatoms, which are often mistaken for it.
