Sold as "Florida Octopus" at LFS. No idea as to what kind . Having hard time trying to find out. Do enjoy the heck out of having it though.

Abdopus aculeatus has been kept in peaceful community tanks mixed with various fish with favorable results by a few of us on TONMO. My last one was in with a yellow coris wrasse and a small blue-spotted rabbitfish as well as 3 peppermint shrimp. Once established it had a daytime activity routine and would occasionally squabble with the fishes over pieces of food, the octopus always winning. The fishes never harassed the octopus, the octopus never harassed the shrimp. It foraged for pods in the rocks and accepted silversides and raw shrimp from the get go.

Doesn't look like O. burryi IMO... does it show some irridescent colors... orange, green, or blue? Eyes definitely resemble briareus. Compare with Animal Mother's briareus: http://www.tonmo.com/forums/showthre...t=12145&page=3

Seconded,
My aculeatus is kept with a Hectors Goby and a few peppermints. She's just now getting into eating frozen. And she won't touch silversides. Has to be krill. Until now it's been fiddler crabs, hermits, and live SW feeder shrimp.
