Finer sponges for reactors
I want to buy a mini reactor for my coralife 29 I've read the reviews for these reactors and all of them say the sponges are either to small or to porus and the gfo and carbon gets by the sponges I'd like to have a large piece about an inch and a half thick I've been on google and all the fish stores online Maybe an expert here would know

Never had an issue with the BRS mini, think I actually removed the sponges at the top because they were not needed and restricted flow when they got clogged up with detritus.
You could just use some regular old filter floss. Just make sure you leave enough room for it to tumble.

I've used the older TLF reactors, and they were fine with stock sponges, so I don't have any experience searching. You could try some thin filter sponge or filter floss. That should keep the carbon from escaping. If you use a thin layer, it should be fine unless it plugs up too quickly. I'd watch the flow.

I wouldn't waste time/money into a reactor for such a small tank..
water changes are all thats needed to maintain a tank of that size.. If you are blowing gfo out then you are running too much flow through the reactor..
