Mine are not SPS so much, but I have had success with LPS corals. Sorry for the quality of the picture , but I am not a great photographer and I just had this picture kicking around. It has been mentioned in this thread that people like corals that have grown large over time, and not just bought corals placed together to be TOTM quality.
The Hammer and Turbinaria on the left are both between 12-14 inches across. The Hammer was started from a small three head frag. The Favia on the right is about 10 inches across and is the size of my wife's head. The Yellow Scroll coral in the middle right was started as two small quarter inch pieces glued to a rock and it is now 7-8 inches. The Pink Pocillipora just above the Turbinaria seeded itself onto a dead piece of acro that was in a corner. I brought it out because it was quite brown and it has colored up nicely and grown to 8-9 inches. |

Woo Hoo!
Here is a shot from my old LFS back in MD, Exotic Aquatics - the store I mentioned back on page 2. They have a huge display up front, and about a year ago when I went back to visit I was amazed, every colony was bigger than a basket ball - i.e. on the order of feet large. Unfortunately they fragged it back last time I was there, and I've heard it's not as great as it once was. Also unfortunatey, this is the only picture I can find at this time:

Amazing thread! These are the pictures I like to see rather than all the frag racks. Anyone who can grow beautiful full colonies and keep them over time definitely gets my respect as a reefkeeper. Kudos!

Biggest thing I've grown... 24" blue stag...had to chop it up last year.
Nicest big colony....15" blue table...rtn'd 5 years ago when yellow gobies pair decided to build a nest right in the middle...cool at first but not so cool afterward. Current colonies....pic is about 1.5 years old and colonies are a few inches bigger. From left to right Gigas clam 24" when fully opened, Efflo top left is about 12" then, front left Blue Millie table was about 12" then and has since been cut back, center thick branch tricolor is about 7 years old and now about 16" (14" then), front right unknown wild tort is about 12" and hasn't changed much, Pavona colony to right back is now the size of a basketball |
