Hi Machado,
First off, Kudos to you... I really take my hat off for your dedication and your helpfulness to everyone. I've had keep a marine tank for over 12 years and have to stop after I was relocated to indonesia... and just by reading this single tread, You have re-ignited the passion of keeping a reef tank in me all over again!! I think I'm going to start building my tank really soon! If I ever have a chance to visit portugal, I would definitely make it a point to visit you! Anyway, A small request...and I thought many would like to see too..is to see a side by side photo of a same single frag from the beginning (2006) and now (2012). :-) |

I apologize for not having intervened in this topic as often as I should.

Glad to know that this topic has re-ignited your will to start again. When you visit Lisbon I will be happy receiving you. I'm sorry but, from the beginning, my option is not to see the corals growing but to breed. However, in the maternity tank some slow growing colonies, namely Turbinaria, Psamacora, etc. have grown freely. Thank you for your interest and support. Cheers,

Thank you for your words. I have tested your pendant and have been very positively surprised. The only problem I noticed is a little loss of color in some corals but I'm not worried about that because it is too soon to have a definitive opinion about the coral pigmentation. When I started using plasmas lights (LEP) in the maternity tank it also happened the same and now the colors are coming back. I think that this always happen whenever we change the type of lights above our corals. By now, the most important thing for me is that corals remain healthy, the electricity consumption was reduced by half and I will have not to spend money to replace tubes in the coming years in my nursery tank where I'm using Neptune LEDs, similar to what happened since the day I started using Sfiligoi plasma pendants in the maternity tank. Cheers,

Machado deSousa, Hi there I never post on here are hardly read these post, however I found this thread through another site and had to keep reading, I made it to page 20 and just had to skip to the end to make this post. Its great what you are doing for our oceans, its people like you that care for our future generations. Its something so little that means so much. With all of this said do you have a web site or a place to take donations? I would love to help you in your cause as well as others I am sure.
Thanks again Nathan Corley |
