I see the Harbor freight ones that are 30x18, but am unsure if I can just center the tank on there? Or do I need 2? Sorry for all the questions. I've tried googling/you tube searches but cant find any videos of ppl actually picking up large tanks with suction cups. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

A friend and I brought my 96"x36"x24"H from my garage thru the front door, maneuver around stairway on furniture dollies. And with the help of a lift cart we got it on 34" stand

My buddy and I= 200g glass tank, upstairs in an apartment around a bend....no suction cups. Just hands and stupidity. Granted we are both personal trainers, but it was stressful especially in august Southern California heat and humidity

That's what I was looking at too. 2 x 1000lbs for safety margin. I expect the tank is ~ 1000 lbs.

Not sure if you are still looking for a lift but the link below is what I ended up using to lift our 240 gallon tank. Basically a 450 LB material lift. If you know anyone who is in the IT field and their work has a server lift it would also do the trick.
https://www.homedepot.com/tool-truck...412/index.html Personally speaking the material lift did work although I didn't think it was the most safe way of doing it. My tank is built on plywood so all we did was lower the lift a tick below the shipping pallet and slide the tank onto the forks. Then raised it slowly a tick above the steel stand. Then slide it on. The more difficult part will be to move it into the house but the plan is to build a temporary stand out of 2x4's (mostly salvaged from shipping crate) and use a set of 500 LB casters I purchased. This way I can just slide it onto that and move it into the house. At least that is the idea...we'll see.

Is it OK to turn a large tank on its side to get it through a doorway?

So how do you move a 1000lb tank sideways? It's built into the wall and sitting on foam.
We managed to push it in with 8 very big guys and jammed it between the foam and wood/sheetrock above. I'm looking into forklifts at this point...
