Tunze 2009 skimmer doesn't fit 29 Biocube!
I need a recommendation on a skimmer to fit my 29 gal. Oceanic Biocube. It is a new biocube and has the lid that is not on hinges!
I just purchased a Tunze Doc 2009 nano skimmer. It fits in the middle chamber, of which I removed the grid/floor, but the collection cup is too tall for the top to go back on the biocube, therefore I can't place the lid on the biocube. The collection cup is also too wide because of the intake wall on the biocube. What is the best skimmer for my biocube that is not a hang-on and that will fit? Thanks |

How does the SR3 compare to the Sapphire? Any experiences?

not running a sump
Any recommendations for a skimmer if you are not running a sump. The SR3 literature says for in sump use only. Or am I reading that wrong?
Thanks.

not to promote another website but there is a guy on nano-reef.com that makes a mod for the tunze nano skimmer. I believe it is called the stevieT mod. not a 100% sure about the name but just search tunze 9002 mod. I have one on my tank and it blows away any other skimmer ive ever used.

Yes that Intank square collection cup ( see link above) works well with my 28 nano, where the original stock did not due to being round.

I have a Tunze, but had to Dremel down the edges of the overflow section. I don't have the hood on, as I'm using a Sunpod. Is the 2009 Tunze much bigger? I bought mine a year ago, but not sure what year model it is. I've read that you can do it, but I can't find the website. Good luck.
