How long do Clams live in captivity?

I Just lost an 8 inch crocea that I have had for 6 years and was wondereing how long they live?

They can live a very long time if they are cared fro properly. I would not say old age was your clams reason for death.

I'd say that a lifespan in decades is reasonable, however. I had an old T. derasa for over 1 decade in captivity before an introduction of Perkinsosis killed it. if proper conditions are met and no predators....the clam will survive your lifetime

waikiki aqaurium has the oldest captive clams which are over twenty five years in captivity.
