Coral Spotlight | Pipe Organ

Common names: pipe organ coral, organpipe coral

Difficulty Level: Pipe organs are extremely tolerant and a great choice for beginners.

Feeding: Pipe organs are primarily photosynthetic, but may catch some small particles with their feathers.

Lighting (Level 7 to 10):These corals are very adaptable but do much better under higher lighting conditions.

Water flow: Stronger water flow is needed to keep debris out from between their hard pipes.

Placement: Pipe organs have a slight sting which should be taken in to account, but it is their quick growth rate that should be considered the most. Leave them plenty of room to fully extend and grow.

General: Though these are soft corals, they do build and live in calcified tubes. Calcium levels of at least 400 should be maintained to promote growth
