Have been following along, very nice build.
Those chromis look so tiny in that big tank lol
I also like how you used the black acrylic in the back.

Nice to see you were able to get some fish swimming around. Did your local club come by for the tour yet?

Yep, it was election night so not as many people made it. I think there were around 8 that came to the house and 10 that came to the store (most of the time it is more than double those numbers). Funny that more people showed up a year ago to move the tank from the garage to the basement than showed up to see the tank full.

Goal for this weekend is to get the skimmer dialed in. Right now I think it sits to low in the water and I need to build a stand for it. It just keeps overflowing the cup with bubbles.
I added 6 more Trochus snails to combat the expanding algae. 6 or so coral frags were added from my old 75 gallon tank. I will look to add a tang to combat the small patches of hair algae. Long way to go still. It is nice to have fish to look at now.

Your tank is coming to life! Corals look good. What kind of tang are you looking into getting? Bristle tooth would be nice to combat the algae but then again my just about any will help keep a clean house

I didn't post a picture of the Yellow Eye Kole tang I got on Saturday because he wouldn't stay still long enough to get a picture of him. I think he is eating some hair algae because it seems to be disappearing in some spots that I have never seen the snails get to. I haven't seen him eat anything because he hides when I come by the tank right now. He hasn't touched the purple Nori I put in there for him so he must be eating something else? hopefully?

Update:

I added a float switch or 3. So far it's working well. 10 gallon reservoir but until I am comfortable with the program I wrote in fusion I'm only half filling it.

Update:

2 things... that's a newer 360E to replace the one that was flickering on me. Trying to fix the flickering one to use over a frag tank someday.
Also put the Auto feeder on the same rack as the lights so it's kinda out in middle. This is nice because all the food falls in and none of it lands on the rim.

It has been a while again... I keep doing a lot of small things to the fish room and never updating this thread. I have been reading the Apex user manual a lot lately. I never knew how much I didn't know about the capabilities of this controller.

Added an important part of any fish room:

Got to have a good beer (and frozen fish food) storage device.

Put a little filter sock hanging arm over the sink to dry dirty or clean socks.

Used some Styrofoam boards to try and keep noise from the return pump downstairs. Maybe they will help with insulation maybe not. At the very least they may keep dust from the bottom of the staircase from falling in the horse trough. The Styrofoam was leftover from my wife's new dinning room table. So far I can't hear a difference but the pump isn't loud to begin with.

Replaced the exposed rusty magnets on this algae scrubber with sealed new ones then encased them in silicone. Turned it on and now I am waiting to see what it does. 2 days up on a 12 on 12 off cycle and I haven't seen any growth yet.

Got the ATO walmart reservoir up and running. If it doesn't work out at least I have a good trash can for the fish room.

Did some cord management to make things look a little nicer... put those Styrofoam blocks up so you can't see the birds nest of wire under the steps.
