Ok, all I have ever had was softies so these had always worked really well for me. I didn't know any better because my stuff was doing great under them. They grew like weeds and I was hacking off chunks left and right. Not until they fried out this past week did I know they were coming in so far short in the wattage/spectrum area compared to others out there.

If I were only wanting to keep what I currently have I'd probably stick with the pro's but since I want to dabble in sps finally, I think I'll go based off what Ron Reefman had in his build post which was the Photon V2's.

Those are great led, I replaced all my AI hydra 52 with 16 inch photon v2. Coral are more colorful and grow faster. The best part is that the shadowing is gone.

What do you have against LADA?

I love my Kessil AP700s. Been running almost 3 years and will be buying a 3rd when I upgrade to my 300 DD.

GHL Mitras. I have 4 LX7206s on my 180G reef, and 3 LX7000s on my freshwater planted tank. Am running them at 60% max and they are very bright, no shadowing and good level of shimmer. Can program them to change K value and brightness on 60 second internals to create pyramid lighting schedule with sunrise and sunset. Their clouds simulation is impeccable. They do lightening storms, rainy days, and lunar cycle simulations as well.
