Seachem Reef Carbonate
Due to having a clam in a nano I am starting to experience low all levels. I have started dosing Seachem Reef Carbonate but I’d like to started dosing it through a dosing pump. To do this I’d want to mix it with RO, I’m just wondering if anyone does this and how diluting it affects the dosing values? I’d appreciate any help.
Thanks, Paul

The clam on its own in a 30g should not delplete Alk, Ca, and Mag, assuming you do a weekly WC. Now if your not doing WC, or have Stoney corals, then depletion would be inevitable.
I will assume if you want to use a doser you can: A) Test for all three. B) Have been manually dosing for at least 2 months so you know how much of each is required to keep them within range. Example...for me daily.....using Seachem Fusion 1 and Fusion 2 + Mag 15ml ALK 6 ml Ca .5 ml Mg This is in a 65g, three clams, 50 Stoneys, using the Jebao DP-4. If you dosing requirement is not beloe 1ml, then you don't need to dilute. Always calibrate your doser and put into a test mode until you are sure it's dosing the correct amount, then simply fill your jars and start in DT. Maybe some of that helps |

A Tridacna clam, for example, can consume a lot of calcium and alkalinity, in my experience. You can mix the supplement with water if you prefer. It's a straight dilution effect, so if you use 1:1 water to supplement, you would need to double the dose.
