220 Bracing help

I purchased a 220 used for 100 dollars no leaks or anything both braces are cracked off. The tank measure 72 x 24 x 30. From my understanding two 5in x 23.5 inch 12mm thick glass could be siliconed where the old braces were and I should be ok, right? The silicone I’m using is GE SC1200 construction grade silicone. Please help I don’t want a swamp wife will kill me

And also after watching Joey’s bracing video he said 2 inches of brace is good up to 4 feet and after every foot you add you add 1 inch to the brace so could I get away with 4 inch wide bracing or should I play it safe and stick with 5inch
