mushroom growth
Just curious. How long does it typically take for discsoma mushrooms to reproduce. I've had 2 striped green ones and one blue one in my tank for about 1-2 months and have seen no hints of babies. They seem like they have grown a little but thats about it.

Wow! Almost a year huh? I understood that mushrooms are supposed to be fast growers and even become troublesome as they take over the tank so quickly. Is it just that they take the year to get going and then they take off?

Mine started dividing just about a month after I got them. I started out with just two 6 months ago and right now I have 9.

Well mushroom growth is going to be completely dependent on the system, species etc. however I don't think it will take a year. If your getting anxious just take a razor blade and slice them right down the middle. See if they split and slice them again if the split is not clean.

Yeah been considering the cutting method but aside from fragging sps or being able to do some easy fragging doing something like cutting a relatively small coral in half makes me nervous lol. Been mostly considering the method of just cutting the cap off though.
