Aqua medic ato issues

So just recently my aqua medic ato has been acting funny and curious what it is causing it. It will register when the water is low with the optical sensor but will want to fill to the secondary sensor above it before turning off. But if I manually move the sensor up and down to see if it cycles on and off with the water level it seems to work normal. Could the optical sensor be bad? The ato system is only about 5 months old.

Bump... so no one has had this issue before? I emailed where I bought it from and they sent me the email for aqua medic support so now I'm just waiting on that
