Aiptasias-file fish?

I’ve always had great luck with peppermint shrimp. However, it’s the Caribbean variety that usually decimate any aiptasias I ‘ve Had. The suppliers got wiped out with the hurricane last year and any peps I’ve added have done nothing. I’ve done the hot water, kalk paste remedies but this only temporizes the population.

Has anyone had any success with temporarily adding an aiptaisia eating file fish?
Other predators? I’m starting to get over run. Thanks!

CC

I tried on three occasions. Both times the fish didn't last long although they did eat the Aiptasia. Also tried a Copperband. Didn't last long.

I ended up getting a Klein's Butterfly. He cleared out everyhting and is still going strong 1-1/2 years later. He did bother a few LPS but didn't touch much else. I don't have too many SPS though.

Thanks guys. Gotta start somewhere. I may Give it a whack. My purple tang is a bit of a beast though, hate to put something in there that can’t hold its own.

If it doesn't work for you I'll buy the fish off you. I've always wanted one, just because they're interesting.

File fish worked great for me. takes a week or two before they get into high gear. Ate pellets as well.

Doing great.
Late in the year to put in any plants.
Have some nice koi in there.
Nothing crazy with fancy names.
