ATO change Apex serial to 2 wire

I have the Avast pressure switch for Apex with the serial connection. Because I am adding a shut off float valve to the storage tank, I need to add a break out box which will use the controller's serial port. Can I convert the current Avast switch to 2 wire or will I need to purchase a new switch?

Yes, you can convert it. Cut the minidin plug off and strip the brown and black wires. Use those in the breakout box, one to the common and the other to a numbered IO pin. Which color where doesn't matter, as long as they complete the circuit.
