Looking good! With the exception of the bare bottom. To me it just doesn't look natural.
FWIW, you should have sealed that cabinet before putting the sump in there. I sealed the corners with painters caulk, and painted the interior with epoxy paint. Just for the few times my skimmer has overflowed, or changing socks, etc, the front of my MDF cabinet is already swollen and flaking. These stands are not built to get wet as MDF just sucks when it gets wet and once it does theres no help for it. If I was to do it again, I would have ponied up the extra 100$ for the all wood stand. No idea why I didn't initially, but I kick myself in the a$$ every time I open my stand and see the swollen MDF.

LOL. Bare bottom is always my preference. One less trouble spot. My other fish only tank, LEE MAR 60g cube, is a bare bottom as well. Ever since converting from sand to bare bottom tank I have no casualties.

Looks great, I just got the same tank. I'm looking forward to your thread. This is my 2nd reef tank however this is the first time I've had a sump. I hope you don't mind me picking your brain as I setup my SCA50gal.

Ollie’s 50g SC build
Be my guest. Make sure you order those 2x2 raceway tracks to hide the cables. You will love that.

Ordered some black acrylic sheet to work on the overflow cover. Since I have EcoTech Marine LED, I have to custom made the cover to make it fit.

Turned out there’s leak on my return pipe and the sump leaked as well. This is not a overnight thing and must be there for a while and I never pay attention to it.
