Evil demon creature wants to eat me help

So now that I've got your attention, what is this thing? It spits stuff out and moves around and generally looks menacing

Not exactly sure what were looking at other then 2 polyps of zoas, some LR, and possibly some bubble algae in the background.

It's the thing on the side of the frag plug, I removed it last night because it was moving around and shooting stuff out of what seemed it's mouth, it had an extremely firm grip on the rock. It had a flat shell on top but most of the creature was soft flesh. I'll try to get more pictures tonight

From that description, I would say it was a stomatella snail. One of the good guys, and a great addition to your CUC.

They sort of look like a slug with a thumbnail for a shell.

Kind of what I was thinking after starring at the picture for a bit, but hard to make out.

It's a stomatella! They're essentially flat-shelled snails. When you see it "spraying" stuff, it's typically reproduction. Any others in the tank will do it too, and soon you'll have babies!
These things are absolutely great in a reef. They graze, they stir up detritus, as adults they're food for almost everything, and when they reproduce via releasing mist they feed your corals too!

They also have a neat defense mechanism, where they split off their tail to escape predators. That tail can move for a long time after the split...

I laughed at the title because I have felt like that before with a couple things Inhad in the tank too

I thought it was a limpet or stomatella, but wast sore because it had a mouth right by its shell. I put it in a 5.5 gallon with a mantis shrimp, because a limpet is the only thing my mantis won't bother

Sounds like a stomatella. Good clean up crew guy. The stuff you're seeing shot all over the tank is... well.... It's reproducing juice.

I was expecting this to be a post about a large female Maroon clownfish. I have to wear elbow high rubber gloves!

Haha no my question for that situation would be, "how dangerous would it be for my tank if i shot a 22 caliber bullet into it?"
