Because of all the requests (zero so far), thought I'd share some favias. These are also from this morning, so same all t5 lights today

I believe this is the tyree triton ???

Mias pot of gold, I think--don't know much about favias

No name

Tyree pastel war, I had just moved it so not too happy at the moment. No choice, have to keep up on maintenance It's just about entirely covered its rock

Thanks. I use 3x 250 mh (radiums or xm, currently xms) and 4xt5 80 watts (3 blue plus and one purple something). I have a geissman fixture and the whole system including the reflectors is awesome

Top down chalice picture. Don't know why everything turned out pale. Sometimes I find the vibrancy varies in the photograph even though the corals color remains consistent. I just don't know enough about photography to explain or understand it.

Trying to figure out blue leds and t5's and photoshop elements. Certainly the effect is pretty but not quite what i am looking for. Thinking about purchasing Lightroom and seeing if that will make it easier to correct the photos so they look more like what I see.

These three are from tonite:

I think the meteor chyphastrea polyps look cool though

This last one is a different coral from the first, its sitting near the first one and again I think the meteor cyphastrea polyps are awesome.

A couple of relatively new favias for me at least These are with t5's and blue led's, the metal halides already turned off.

Also sorry about the focus but I took these through the front of my bow tank and I could not get a 90 degree angle through the glass.

Hallucination favia

Next favia:

Thought I would add some more eye candy to this:

a couple chalices getting bigger and rounder:

My 'Oh so cool" symphillia

A very cool blastomussa

Great looking chalisis! I am looking to add some to my tank as well, but I want the kind that grow out from the rock to the side, how can I tell which are which? it seems that some grow up and outward and some grow flat..

Wow. That's quite a compliment. Thank you. I think the colors and shapes are amazing. Mine are more old school--have had them for 3 years or more--real old school.

I am far from an expect on chalices. Given a base to follow, either sand bed, flat rock they plate pretty flat. But placed almost anywhere they start growing along the underlying structure, as to changing direction on growth. I believe they are called chalices because they ultimately like to cup. I have no idea where I got that information. Even when they change direction, it is still a thing of beauty. I think it is extremely majestic and powerful that nature through opportunity, flow and lighting will alter the growing edge directions whether it be up, down, along rockscape or up to the surface.

I have had this one for a while
