Not a bad quote - I think mine was done for $450, 4 years ago for my 125. I had a buddy who welds dune buggy chassis and suspensions parts all day do mine.

After he was done - he said, "if anyone asks - tell them I charged you $750, because that was a lot of work".

Yeah $450 is too cheap.. deal of a lifetime I'm waiting for a quote from 8020.net for an extrusion kit to make my own stand from 80-20, but I suspect it will be more than the fabricated one.. we'all see

ya - it most likely will be. Or, at least pretty much the same. the 80/20 stuff is not cheap. I don't remember the exact cost but I priced it out at the time I built my stand and it was pretty close in costs to the having the steel one built.

As requested, here are some details on #lightzilla.

Version 1 was just the center 2 bulbs and reflectors removed with 3 Kessil 360we down the middle. The end result was an awesome light. I used the Apex to run the program for the Kessils and the ATI retained full 2 channel functionality. The downside was the bulky look.

With PHX in the 120+ temp range next week, I've gone back to LED only. My room is just too warm with the T5s. Also solidifying plans to set up my 180 gallon as soon as I move. The 180 will initially be illuminated by LED, so might as well start acclimating the corals now.

Well thats a shame you gotta ditch the T5's. I've been having good luck with mine, but I've been running a fan over the tank to keep the temps below 80. It's crazy how T5's heat the water up so quickly.

Yeah..it's a small room and also where I sleep, so I need it cool.

House AC is at 77 and runs constant when it's this hot. I'm in the process of buying a house, so plans are to eventually go
Back to a T5 combo with my next tank

Tank is destined to be torn down in about a month. I expect to be closing on my house in a couple of weeks and will start to set up my 180 long. Luckily the house is only a few miles away, so I don't expect any losses.

Just whatever the default is. I typically use an eBay gel filter and that's it

Rescued this little guy from a local school. They were paying someone $150 per month to maintain a tank with a single 1" clownfish and some plastic corals lol.

Whoever was doing that, shame on them. Instead of volunteering services to schools they charge them, but on top of charging them, they gouge them as well!

Good of you to rescue it. Tank looks great btw.
