No water coming thru DI unit.

My RODI unit is about 3 months old, only used it a few times however im not getting water coming thru the DI part anymore.

Does this mean its time to change the filter already?

Im pretty sure the line is not clogged, and theres a decent water pressure coming from the pipe even though i dont have a tester to test the pressure or a booster.

Have you kept the filter full of water or did you let it dry out?

Sounds like the membrane may have dried out...not letting the water to pass through.

Unhook the lines to each stage one at a time and see where the flow stops.

I see where the flow stops, right when it goes into the DI membrane it doesnt come out.

Guess i didnt know the membrane wasnt supposed to dry out and to keep it wet.

I'm having the same problem right now, guess I'll have to disconnect my DI unit to see if the water is flowing thru my RO unit.

Are you confusing the RO membrane with the DI resin canister? The DI resin canister should unscrew and inside should be a cylinder with the resin beads in it. Which can be replaced.

I bet you need a booster pump . . . my pressure seemed okay too when I tested it (+40) but I got much better performance after adding a booster. Get ready to spend another $130.00 !

yes i think i was... the water actually flows through the 3 RO canisters and i get RO water, but once it enters the DI chamber it doesnt come out.

Guessing i jus need to change the DI resin or get a booster pump.

Before you put $140+ into a booster pump take out the resin cylinder put it back together and see if water comes out of the DI unit.

Is your sediment filter clogged?

Please post a pictue if possible of the unit that will help us help you. Unless you are on well water you shouldn't have issue with the other filters being only 3 months old, but a picture would help.

Are you sure? If you have a 5 stage then you have 3 canisters (usually clear) that hold sediment and carbon filters. The RO "canister", actually a membrane, is usually mounted horizontally above the other 3 filters and is in a white housing. From the RO membrane it goes to the DI cartridge and then you get the pure water from it.

A pic of your setup would really help!

DI isn't a membrane, that's the RO membrane.

Sounds like the RO membrane is/was dry. Once wet, should stay wet until it's time to change out. food for thought.
