salt water propagation
Suppose you have a 40 gallon bucket and a 50 foot 1/2 id inch hose hooked to it. Now suppose the hose and bucket are full of RO/DI water only - no salt. Then you mix up your 35ppt salt in the bucket.
The question is, will the water in the hose stay as RO/DI water or will the saltwater in the bucket cause all the water in the hose to become 35ppt also (The hose is shut off entirely in this scenario) If so, how long would it take? |

Yes the salt will be distributed throughout the water in the bucket and hose...
How long that takes depends on the amount of aggitation in said bucket/hose... Even without any aggitation all of the water will have salt in it after some time.. Im not aware of a diffusion rate calculation of stagnant water/salt
