Tunze 9012 foaming stops randomly
My skimmer sometimes just stops producing foam. I have to blow in the air pipe, then it trundles along happy for 2-7 days before stopping again.
I cleaned and soaked in vinegar, but to no avail. Anyone had similar and fixed it? Works fine but when away I have to remind someone to come in and check this. Worries me, as I need the skimmer rock solid reliable :-S For clarity the pump continues working, just no foam until I blow in the air inlet tube after which it kicks out foam again, straight away Thanks in advance any wise people with good ideas! :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How old is it?
Main thoughts are a bad impeller that is riding too high or an obstruction by salt creep of the air inlet nipple over the impeller.

About two years old, and it sat around before I used it (so over guarantee). Not sure what an impeller is, are you suggesting replace the pump? If you can advise what part I'll have a look on flea bay. Thanks

We have only made the 9012 for about 20 months, it is definitely under warranty, this is the part you need-
