Thank you for whoever talked about soaking food in meds

I had a yellow tang w/some ich and other crap. I tried for 2 days to trap him out and get him into the hospital tank to no avail.

my tank is 1/2 reef 1/2 fish

I saw a post about soaking the food in the meds and then feeding it.

IT WORKED !!!!!!!!!!

so whoever posted that tidbit THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!

meds won't cure ich!!!! you may be seeing the stage in which the trophonts have fallen off of the fish to multiply!!..they are likely to return, and in greater numbers...if it is gone, it wasn't ich

ick can be fought off by fish in a healty fish tank.... so long as your fish dont show ick you are OK .. but be advised your fish still have it.... if something happens to your tank the ick may reappear... there are 2 ways to rid ick Hypo and copper and both need to be done in a QT tank....

it doesn't matter how healthy the fish are, they are still suceptible to the parasite..

I understand all of that, it was more of a fungus thing vs ich, I am running a 36 watt UV and that takes care of the rest of the issues. Now everyone is looking GREAT !!!!

I could not catch the tang that had probs, tried everything, so with small doses of maracyn and soaking the food, it worked, had to turn off the protien skimmer of course during treatment, but now everyone is healthy and doing great.

Thanks for your input on the larval stages etc of ich, I am versed in that, but I have the UV dialed in so it'll nuke those critters.

keep an eye out for symptoms..UV lights won't get all of them..if it is gone, it was most likely not ich
