TDS reading

When my TDS is reading 4, what needs to be done. My DI has only changed amber a quarter of the way down. Thank, Ken

Ken it is possible you have high CO2 which is exhausting your anion resin of the mixed bed. Get me a pH and alkilinity reading of tap water if possible and we can check your CO2 level.

I also will be moving to Stallings NC this summer, just outside of Charlotte. Do you know how the quality of their water is. Thanks, Ken

OK CO2 is not an issue how much water have you run through your resin? If you started with a TDS reading of zero a reading of four would indicate exhaustion even though your resin has not totally changed color.

Couldn't tell you how much water, except I've been using it for 4 months. So could it be the DI? Thanks, Ken

I was thinking this was brand new resin just put in. It is time to change your resin when you start to see a steady 2-4 reading from zero before the reading starts to climb higher. The resin may not all change color and the reading is the real guide to exhaustion.

Thanks guys, the resin came in today. I have another question; I own the Ocean Wave unit and wanted to know when everything needed to be replaced. Thanks again for the great service. Ken

Ken membranes generally last 2-3 years carbon and sediment filters should be changed every 6-9 months and you already know about DI resin.
